Vada Kurma
Ingredients
Channa Dhal - 2 cups
Onions - 2 (finely chopped)
Tomatoes - 2 (finely chopped)
Garlic - 2 cloves (crushed)
Turmeric - 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves
Cardamom - 2 pieces
Cinnamon - 2 pieces
Clove - 2 pieces
Salt - to taste
Oil - 1/2 cup
Ingredients to grind
Coconut - 1 cup
Chilli powder - 1 tablespoon
Dhaniya powder - 2 tablespoons
Saunf (fennel seeds) - 1 teaspoon
Cashewnut - 5 pieces           

Procedure
Vada
Soak Channa Dhal for 3 - 4 hours
Grind coarsely
Remove batter in a bowl and add salt to taste and fry vada in pan

Kurma
Heat oil in a pan
Add Cardamom, cloves and cinnamon
Add finely chopped onions and stir fry
Add finely chopped tomatoes and stir fry until the tomatoes are soft
Add crushed garlic, turmeric, and some salt
After a minute, add the ground masala and mix
Cook well until it leaves oil (oil starts floating up) and does not stick to the pan
Add water (2 cups or as needed) and salt to taste
When the kurma starts to boil, add the Vada
Cook for 2 minutes
Add curry leaves
After one boil, turn off the stove, transfer to a serving dish and enjoy
